I looking at a Key West with this engine are there any concerns? It is oil injection and carb.
I will insist on a compression test and check the gear oil.

Anything to look out for?

" I'd ask for the maintene

" I'd ask for the maintenence records for the motor, regular service, any warranty problems. I'd also would have the oil warning system checked, if you plan on keeping the oil system connected. This can be done by running the motor on a seperate fuel tank with 50:1 fuel/oil mix. They can then remove the oil line from the VRO, let it run out of oil and the oil alarm should sound. They can then reconnect the oil line, with the premix tank still connected to the motor, and make sure the oil alarm stops after the VRO does it's job and picks up the oil again.
Or you can have the oil side of VRO disconnected and mix your own oil with the fuel. "

" I would probably disconnect

" I would probably disconnect the auto oil any way, I never liked the system especially OMC systems.

What about the rest of the engine? Is this design a good one "

As long as it hasn't been

As long as it hasn't been neglected I'd say it would be as reliable as any two stroke outboard.
