2000 Sesdoo Mercury optimax V6 - cranks but no spark on spark plug

hi all,

I have recently purchased a 2000 seadoo challenger with the mercury optimax V6 motor.

I sat for several years (indoors)

The motor looks in good shape apart from a bit of rust here and there..

I siphoned the old fuel out of the tank, and put a new battery in it. It currently cranks but no spark to the plugs. And no fuel either..

The fuel pump does work when I turn the key, and starter also engages when key is turned.

I plan on changing all the filters today, fuel/water separator, fuel filter and oil filter.

Is there anything else I can do to troubleshoot getting it back up and running please??

If the fuel pumps do not turn on when you crank the engine, that points to the crank position sensor.

First check all fuses on the engine, next look at the tach while cranking, if it does not move, the CPS has failed. A scan tool would pinpoint the issue.
