Part # of the new starter ?-----Was the new battery load tested ?-----Checked lower unit oil ? ----Is it a 4 stroke ?------How did it run for you last season ?

With the key out of the ignition switch, try to turn the prop without touching anything else. If it doesn't want to turn, make sure to get it to go into neutral by disconnecting the shift cable and try it again. If it IS in gear with the helm in the neutral/centered position, make sure the cable isn't stretched.

Find out how far the voltage drops when cranking with plugs in. If it drops below 9VCDC, make sure the "new" battery is fully charged. Resting voltage should be around 13.2VDC.
