2000 Mercruiser 4.3 190HP 2 BBL Carb (4BBL Carb Upgrade?)

Hi All,
Don't know if this has been asked before but does anyone have any input on the HP increase of converting my 2 BBL Carb to a 4 BBL Carb. i have a 2000 Mercruiser 4.3 on a Glastron GX185, currently I can hit 49 -52 MPH at WOT depending on water and wind conditions. Would I see much difference with a 4 BBL Carb.

A 4.3 2 bbl is 190 propshaft hp

A 4.3 4 bbl is 205 propshaft hp.

Not worth the expense in my opinion.......

15 hp wont really be realized with varying boat conditions......
 
Ayuh,.... With a matchin' manifold, the Edlebrock 1409 carb can use the standard Merc bracketry for the cable,....

You'll see maybe a couple mph at top end, but much better power throughout the mid-range,....

The tiny primaries give great response, 'n decent fuel economy,....

My barge has the 4.3LX Merc/ Weber carb at 205 hp,....
 
Because

a 18 ft does not really need the extra power BUT a 20+ foot barge does need the additional torque/fuel/power.............
