Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my 1GM10 engine from 2014. It always starts, but right after starting it runs very slowly and emits a lot of black smoke. This goes on for a while until it starts running normally. Something I don't understand, is that when I turn the ignition key OFF, it suddenly starts running a lot faster and then runs normally after that, and I turn the ignition key back on. This is probably NOT a good thing to do, but it makes the engine run.
This problem only happens when the engine is cold, not after its been run for a bit.
Last time I took the boat out, the engine did not reach the highest RPM, and this I have never noticed before.
I don't really know a lot about engines, but the fuel is clean, the filters and oil were changed a few months ago, but maybe there is wrong timing for the injector? Or can it be something with the alternator or electrics?
I guess it needs a service, but it would be nice to get some advice from somebody here in case you have some useful knowledge.
Thanks in advance!
