1999 Evinrude Ficht 150

Hi, I'm looking at a 1999 Evinrude Ficht 150. The seller is asking $2,500.

It has the pinned head and a screen shot from the Evinrude diagnostics software shows 600 hours. Max EMM temp is 146.5.

From some quick research I see that this is one of the "trouble" Ficht engines, but with 600 hours, is this engine past whatever gave them a bad rap?

Looking for some opinions as to value, what I should look out for with this engine? Seller claims "great running condition, immediate cold start, smooth idle, runs like new, well maintained".

IMHO I'd stay away from it. That was a bad year for that motor. Before you buy it check on parts availability for it. I myself might give the guy $250.00 for it.
 
All the above as parts are scarce,nobody will work on it as to age and 1999 is a ticking time bomb!! 600 hr are likely all low RPM usage.
