Hello All,
I thought I started a thread the other day, but it has not appeared yet. Apologies if I duplicate somehow.
Here's the general story: I have a '98 Hi da BF90 with the Merc lower unit. I recently installed a new shift cam and bearing carrier. In the muffs I can get the motor into forward and reverse, but neutral is not found when the remote handle is in the "neutral"position. In the water, however, I can just get the unit into reverse, but cannot add throttle without that terrible rattling sound.
I am looking for some direction Re where to start my diagnosis. Is it possible that I installed the shift cam a bit out of phase with the remote shifter handle? Did I somehow affect the shift cables even though I did not touch them? Any help/suggestions are appreciated.
Cheers,
-Ryan
