Hello, I have a outboard (2 stroke 30 hp evinrude long shaft 1998 model) and the other day after I shut my engine off with the muffs on (out of water) I noticed some oil coming out of some of the little holes on the lower unit along with the water being forced through. Is this normal and/or a sign of over-filling the lower unit, or is this a seal leaking? Very small amount of oil... Also I don't have a temp gauge on this outboard, but how hot should the water coming out feel? After 15 minutes of pulling a kneeboarder I can easily hold my hand under the outlet, this should be okay, right?

If u can hold your hand on cylinder head for a six second count without scorching fingers your ok. The oil you see should be residual byproducts of 2/cycle combustion.Check oil in lower unit, much thicker oil in lower unit. You should be able to hold your hand in telltale stream all day long!
