Hi all, first time poster here..

Have a 1998 Force 40 HP motor. Runs great at 800 feet elevation in Oklahoma with a .062 jet but can't get any power at elevation 8600 with .054 jet or 4700 feet with .056 jet. Idles well and sounds fine but won't get up and go. No tachometer so don't know the RPM's. Basically won't get up on top of the water and runs with nose up. Any thoughts on what we should be checking for here? Thanks in advance!

Get a prop with less pitch for running at higher elevations to go with the smaller jets. Just be sure and put the larger jet back in when you run at lower elevations or you will burn up the pistons running too lean. Rule of thumb is two jet sizes for every 2500ft elevation so you should be good on jet sizes, be sure and check the plug color if they come out powdery white your running too lean. Smaller jets also decreases HP size the prop for proper WOT rpms is all you can do.
