Having a problem with my volt gauge, Last week voltage kept getting higher after every start, checked with a good meter 14.87 volts@4k RPM my gauge reads 12 volts unplugged in hand. Installed a used gauge shows 12 v but have not started motor (not in h2o) could it be that my old gauge just failed or could there be a issue with regulator. Battery is new and was fully charged 12.96 volts engine off .
