1995 225 hp evinrude vindicator power unit.

can someone tell me what lower units interchange with my vindicator? what year models with minor changes. what about gear ratios? found two 85 model 150 gear cases cheap and want to know if they will work.

shop.evinrude.com has parts breakdown for all models. You could try looking up the models of your motor vs various models of 85 motors to see if things match up. My gut says it probably won't match up. The 1985 will be matched to a 2.6L cross charged V6. Yours is a 3.0L looper. You may find the numbers don't match but it fits properly. The Gear set is probably more robust on the larger motors to handle the increased torque load. In that case, it might work till you break it!
