1993 Johnson J60TLET, extra wires?

Hey all,

I am installing a (new to me) J60 that appears to be in great shape.

After plugging everything in, I am left with extra wires.

At the CONTROL side, I have:

1. white/brown
2. Black
(These are both coming out of the bottom of the shifter lever, as extra unused wires)

3. Purple
4. Another black
5. Gray
(These are bundled together and feed into a plug on the control)

At the MOTOR side, I have a plug with colored wires:

7. Purple
8. Gray
9. Black
10. (Orange or pink, not sure)

Is all of this stuff for the VRO? It has been disconnected and am wondering if I have to do anything with these extra wires?

Thanks, I will take any help at this point! 😀

Purple / black grey is for tachometer.===Picture 2 is for trim / tilt ?----Picture 3 is fo VRO.-----Are you going to mix gas / oil at 50:1.----Installing a new impeller ?----Tested the overheat horn?

Yessir!

Going pre-mix with xd50 at 50:1, and brand new impeller has been installed. Also, new gear oil in bottom end and new fuel filters and pump.

Can I:

1. Sea trial at low rpm without tach installed? (Will system allow me?)
2. Do I run tilt/trim wires to a separate relay box? Can I use the tilt/trim switch on the side of the motor for the sea trial or is that a bad idea?

Thank you
