good day everyone , I just joined
I have assembled the thermostat housing with new stats, valves etc today . I notice the cork seals sitting in the recesses that the 2 stats sit on, seem to stand out quite a bit above the plastic, so when I put the gasket over it, it does not seem to sit flush onto the plastic. .
1.Is that normal for a new cork seal to sit out like that and do I just have to tighten the 3 bolts until the gasket is flush with the surface?
2. Do i use permatex aviation on both sides of the gasket ie onto the plastic housing as well as onto the metal surface of motor side
