I bought a warrior with a 91 merc 75 2 stroke on it recently. Motor seems to run great at anything over idle in gear, and idles just fine in neutral once warm. It won’t idle in gear at all when it’s not fully warm, and not for real long even after it’s warm before it dies. Takes quiet a bit of cranking to get it to fire if it’s sat and cooled down at all. If it’s still hot, it fires right up and takes off. When cold, it will bog down a little bit for the first few seconds and sputters then takes off and runs fine. Wondering where I should start to address the problem? I’m half decent working on my own stuff but definitely not a mechanic. Going to be putting it into storage for the winter in a couple weeks so I’m getting ready to start digging into it now that fishing is about done.
