1990 Force outboard 120hp, need help on sealant for exhaust tube to separation plate

I rebuilt the outboard and need to attach the exhaust tube to separation plate before installing the motor back. The edge is pretty thin. What type of sealant can I use?

It's a pretty tight fit and you don't really need any.
I'm not sure the factory used any??
But if you want I's use something that was heat resistant.

That will work.
You might run into problems when you reinstall the exhaust chest cover and plate and gaskets.
The heat seems to take off the edges and the sealing surfaces. If you can?? cut the surface down to make a better sealing surface. Mill them to make a better surface.
My first time I ended up having 15+ leaks at the different screws.
