1990 9.9 Johnson

This motor is used mainly for trolling. Motor has no issues idling but under load the carburetor seems to start overloading. I can kick it in neutral and rev it up and this seems to clear it up for the next few minutes. I have replaced the plugs. Could this possibly be a float issue?

You would think it would flood at idle also if it was the float?Did you do a rebuild on it yet or the fuel pump?28 year old carb could be ready for some TLC.

Have you tried adjusting the low speed needle ??
