I have been having problems with this engine charging. I just installed a new recrtifier and stator. It still will not charge. I double checked all the connecions and they appear to be corredt. I have a charging gage on the boat and i also hooked up a second one to one of the batteries. It still will not show any charging. Can any one help me on this--I just don't know what to try next. This is a oil injected, 3 cyl, VE70TLESB. HELP!!!!! Thanks, Jim

What do you mean by a "charging gage " ??

Sory Boobie, what i should have said was a volt gage/meter. I have the gage on my dash and i hooked a vold meter directly to the battery---neither one moved after the engine was started. I just don't know what to check or do at this point. Jim p

Go to cdielectronics.com and you should find a test procedure for both. But you'll need a multi-meter.

Will it run but not charge? If yes then the new rectifier/regulator may be defective.

Yes it will run but the stator has two different circuits in it. One for ignition and the other one for charging the battery.
