1988 9.9 Throttle question

Finally got the pontoon out for the year. Engine was running great Untill i went to throttle up i got about 1/2 way to full and it reverted to about 25% power. i pull back the lever back to that 1/2 way point and the boat will run good. I thought when this happened i heard a click sound from the engine.. any suggestions??? Evinrude E10ELCC 9.9 1988

Check for spark on both cylinders !

will do for sure... i just put 2 new plugs in it. the starting, ideling, slow trolling speed is all perfect. untill i get to that 1/2 throttle point.

Then put a timing light on it and see if you have spark on each one up to full throttle.----------------Any linkages fallen off ???----------Is throttle opening fully??-------------Timing base under the flywheel rotating as you give throttle ??
