Hi

I am having trouble with my 1987 Merc.100.

It is a 4 cylinder engine and the second bottom cylinder wont fire.

It has a new stater and has a good spark.
The compression test was 120 in each cylinder.
I have cleaned the carbie but I think this is the problem as I don't really know what I am doing.

I there a web site that can show me how to clean the carbies?

Can you think of another reason that it is not firing? The brand new spark plug is still shiny and new.

Thanks Heaps

Rob

"Rob, It is either water in the cylinder from a bad cooling or exhaust system, or incorrect fuel charge. If you crank the motor with the muffs on and water pumping and hold a rag over the spark plug hole, you might be able to confirm the water. Gas and oil will soak into the rag, water will bead up on the rag."

Reed valves?????? What happens

Reed valves?????? What happens when you spray fuel into that cylinder.

I would have to say try anothe

I would have to say try another coil pack from another cylinder to see if the coil is bad.
