"Hey all,
I have a Johnson 15 that I use as a trolling motor on my big boat. Rarely do I ever even reve it up. Attached it to a 14' aluminum boat to go fishing on Saturday and couldn't get the think to rev up much. (Elevation about 10,000 feet). At the end of the day I unplugged the fuel line to run it out of gas like I always do, and lo and behold it reved up and ran like a striped ape for a minute until it ran out of gas...
Whats up with that?
A. Normal because of the high altitude?
B. Carb need rebuilding?
C. Needs new plugs?
D. Anything else?
The last time I had this motor on a small boat, was at Lake Powell (4000 feet) and it ran great. Was last year some time. Haven't even used it much since then. I always run it out of gas after using it, and the gas always has fuel conditioner in it.
