1987 60HP MERCURY questions for the ADVANCED?

OK,I just got a new/old boat from a friend 1987 forester with a 60 hp merc.the boat had sat for 10 years uncovered,so been trying to get her back to as new as poss.I changed the complete water pump,new seals,changed the power unit oil,new plugs squirted some 2cycle oit in the cylinders and turned them over by hand,replaced fuel lines,cleaned out the gas tank 18gal. just rebuilt the auto-blend still looks in great shape,new fuel filters installed, I read that I should squirt some 2 cycle oil into the throats of the carbs?is this correct? also should I try and start it up or change the fuel pump diapham first? I am going though the check list any other sugestions? please help

Cange that diaphragm first, and you might have to clean out the carbs as well.

Anything rubber or rubber in it like the fuel pump should be replaced.

so I should replace the fuel pump diaphram,before starting? how about all the fuel hoses under the cowl?all replaced before starting?

Replace them all or you will wish you did.

Ditch the Autoblend as they are notorious for burning up engines....
