1986 4.3 Alpha One Steering Cable question

I have disconnected my steering cable from the outdrive. The outdrive moves now with no issue. My question is can someone explain to me step by step how to free up the frozen cable. I have not been able to find anything how to do this. The boat has power steering. Thanks for any help given.

Ayuh,.... Replace it with a New cable,....

I used the Cable, 'n helm Kits,.... Saves tryin' to fit a new cable to an obsolete helm,....

Thanks I am up to replacing the entire cable. But how do I remove it from the steering wheel end?

depends on the helm unit. some need a safety pin released first, others simply unscrew from the helm unit
