Timer Base is sticking and wi

Timer Base is sticking and will ot advance the timing at times. What is the best way to fix the problem?

Best way is to pull

Best way is to pull the flywheel..under there you will see where the timer is held in place by 4 clips...loosen these ans swing to one side..now you can pull the timer base up and clean it, re lube it and reinstall..Take the small rod that runs to it and pop out the ball connection and move the timer base freely..should be little or no resistance..re-install the ball clip and the flywheel..should now be good to go...! "
