1985 Mercruiser Sterndrive Tilt and Trim replacing hoses

I am replacing the hoses on my trim cylinders do I need to bleed the system? If so how would this be done?

keep eye on fluid level and raise and lower it a dozen times or so.

Just a note on replacing the hoses.You are screwing a stainless fitting in an aluminum housing.It is very easy to cross thread or over tighten and pull the threads out.Been there done that.
To bleed tap the button till oil comes out the hose then install and cycle the tilt.

No, you need not "bleed" it. Just run the drive up and down a few times, which will purge the air from the system, and then recheck you oil level.
