My flywheel ring gear teeth are bad.I think maybe from age. I would like to know if I can purchase a ring gear, and if so how would I measure for It?

I don't want to purchase a new flywheel, because of my rebuild budget( I got the engine 90% completed), and not sure 'bout purchasing a used flywheel.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks!

Ayuh,..... You could have the 153 tooth 12" flywheel ring gear, or the 168 tooth 14" flywheel ring gear,....

Either can be found at any auto parts store,....

Knock the old one off, put the new one in yer oven, 'n heat it up,....
Take it outa the oven, 'n drop it onto the cleaned flywheel,...
It'll literally Fall into place,....
