1985 90hp bottom end removal

model no. 90ETLK. I need to replace the impeller. Need to know how to disconnect the shift linkage before I start.

It might be a splined shift rod.----So nothing to disconnect.

Don't forget to remove the "fin" behind the prop to get to that bolt too. Remove the rubber plug to get to that bolt to remove the fin, then you can get to the bolt that goes up into the exhaust housing "mid section". That's frequently forgotten and some folks have destroyed a lower unit by trying to beat/pry the lower unit off, not knowing about that last bolt.
