1984 OMC Stern Drive

Can someone tell me how to disassemble the worm gear assembly for a sterndrive tilt? I replaced the drive motor but i think the worm gear assembly may be the problem now. Is there a online site to view a repair manual for an 1984 OMC sterndrive? Just found a post from 2008 should have searched first. Going to try the jumper cable to solenoid. The post i found described exactly the problem i'm having. Please add any other suggestions. Thanks

Buy a seloc manual # 3400

What post did you read.

What problem you having.

What i do is remove the 3 screw that hold the triangle metal on the end of the worm gear.

Then i cycle the drive up. or down and the plug should pop out.

tie up the drive remove the half moon gear and pop off the c clamp on the little gear that drives the half moon gear.

The tilt clutch pack first comes out. then the bronze gear and then the worm gear.
