I have 1984 90 HP Johnson. Not sure if I am getting charging
from the motor to the battery. Everything works fine on the motor.
Starts, runs well etc... I put a analog meter on my battery
and looked like around 12.5 volts. Start the motor
and the voltage stayed constant. While running the motor,
the voltage never seems to change. No increase in voltage
like you might expect if the charge circuit is working.
Tachometer used to work a long time ago, sometimes
intermmidently. Now it does not seem to work.
It does jump slighitly when I turn key to on position.
Suggestions? I have seen some things about the rectifier
part. How do I test? Also seen stator concerns, How do
I test, assuming I need too?
