Hello. I have an old Johnson outboard that belongs to my friend, but I have an interest in buying. Pull start needs some work but I got it running. Hasn’t ran for years. I will only ask my first question, and if things are ok or able to be fixed, I will ask some more. It was supposed to have a new water pump from the last owner. When I got it fired in a barrel of water a little over the cavitation plate, it started pumping water out of the tiny tube hole in the bottom of the shroud. Then as it ran a bit longer that stream slowed to almost nothing and water was coming out of the two holes about 3 inches below the power head on the back of the housing leading to the lower gearbox. Question is is something broken or is this normal?
