I`m getting ready to replace the timer base and was wondering if anyone had any tips.Never replaced one but looks fairly easy.I have to rent a puller for the flywheel and get a 1 5/16 socket.Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

In theory, you will have to reset the full advance timing. You may get lucky without it.....Or you may destroy the engine. Feelin' lucky?

Was the existing timer base tested ?-These units are fairly reliable.---Need three 5/16" fine bolts for the puller and make sure you torque the flywheel to 105 ft-lbs when done.
