1977 Evinrude reed plate question.

Hello everyone.I have a 1977 Evinrude 85 hp model 85799s that I am replacing the reeds in and was wondering if anyone knows if the reed plate/intake needs to be torqued to the crankcase? If so what is the torque and torque sequence?I have a SELOC manual but the only torque specs they are calling for is for the reed blocks to the reed plate.Thanks

The 1/4-20NC screws are torqued to 70 inch lbs.-----Why are you replacing reeds ?

Thanks for the reply.I am replacing the reeds because I was getting fuel spitting back out of one of the carbs.When I pulled the reed plate off I noticed a couple reeds were out of spec per the manual I have.
