1977 20 Merc Steering

As noted, I have a 77 20 hp, e-start, set up for remote controls. It's a tiller model, is there any way to hook up a standard remote steering system to this motor? I can't find anywhere on the motor to connect a steering arm to? Is there some sort of adapter needed? I can't find anything in the Merc accessories.
