1973 115hp mercury weak water stream at outlet

1973 115hp mercury weak stream of water coming out of outlet but when I pulled the plug in the back of the block it shots a stream 3/8" and three or four feet all kinds of flow it is just not getting to the outlet. I have run a wire all the way up to where it goes into the block and used compressed air to try and open it up. Could you flush it with one of the mineral build up dissolvers. Thanks

If it's pumping water at the top of the block,I wouldn't worry too much.Did you pull the tube where it connects to the block?It might be salt built there.Salt away will do no harm to the rubber,but it might be handier replacing the tube

If in doubt, check it out,,, with an infrared temperature gun. Shouldn't go over 150 F.

Your "P" likely comes of bottom of side exhaust plate and they cake up over time. Plug it off and move it to center plug or better some model had the plug on top to bring new indicator off of.
