"It is like clockwork, the motor runs great when cold, but after 20 - 30 minutes it won't idle, if I keep the RPM's up it will run forever but as soon as I throttle down it will bogg down and stall. It won't restart for an hour. Once it is cold it runs great.

This happened for the first time after I hooked up the battery backwards. When I hooked up the battery backwards, realized my mistake, swap the cords and saw the RPM Gauge wasn't working. I replaced the rectifier and the RPM Gauge works again. I then noticed the weak spark when hot and replaced the coil, that didn't help.

ANy ideas? Did i fry the PowerPack? Is there a way to test the PowerPack, what about the Stator?

Someone emailed me to pull the flywheel and clean and check the gap. Does that sound correct?

Pull the flywheel / clean distributor cap / rotor / and set the two sets of points to 0.010"----------------it needs this if it has not been done recently.
