1960 Johnson CD-17 5.5 HP. Anybody know what the point gap is ?..where to get a flywheel puller ?

You can get a flywheel puller from the same places you buy auto tools . They're also called harmonic balancer pullers.

Right, the little pullers are often borrowed out too. Be sure to check over the coils for cracks and burn holes. A half drop of oil on the points pivot post is a good idea. Points are not lubed here from the factory. I use a tiny dab of grease on these posts as an alternative. The little cam lube wick must get a drop of oil. Make sure the coils do not rub the flywheel. They are properly set when the face on them is flush with the top edge of the bevel on the mounting posts. Make certain the wires will not rub any moving parts. I find problems here quite often. Properly done, these mag ignitions are trouble free for 20 to 30 years. Store motor in clean dry place, free of mice.
