I pulled the coil out of the magneto assembly. It has one lead, the primary obviously and it attaches to the power screw.
I bought the replacement coil specified by this website. It has two leads and they are not marked.
There is a clue but I don't feel confident enough to risk $210.
The leads have ring terminals on them. One is small and fits the power screw.
The other is larger and fits the screw that holds the hold-down clip, therefore ground.
Am I to assume that the size of the ring terminals determines primary and ground or is there a test I can do to identify primary and ground?
