Gents, I recently purchased a RDE-17C and will be restoring it. I'm replacing a motor on my '55 Crestliner; however, I'd like to use the external electrical connector on the side of the motor for connecting to the boat electrical system. Unfortunately, I do not have the female connector. The 1955 RDE-17C Parts Catalog does not show this connector. Can anyone identify this connector and possibly point me in a direction to purchase one?

Thanks,
Tim

After a bit more investigating, it seems the connector is present in the 1956 RDE-18 Service Manual. Possibly, the 1955 RDE-17C I have is a mid-late 1955 release and the connector was added (?). No sure. Anyway, I do not have a 1956 RDE-18 Parts Catalog. Does anyone have one they can check to see if the harness p/n is listed? Much appreciated.

Unless I am mistaken, the connector did not appear till 1957. Then it was changed in 1958 with the addition of two more pins. Your picture shows the 1957 version. Somebody must have retrofitted it to your 1955. Or it isn't really a 1955.

Thanks for the feedback. This makes sense and could be the root of my confusion. I was going off the ID plate (freeze plug s/n matches). I'll consider it a retrofit and pursue the connector for the 1957.

Thanks again.
