150 Verado Tilt/Trim Leaking At Base - Need Help

Hi all.....
I have a 150HP Verado. Due to excessive corrosion (most likely caused by electrolysis near my slip...that's another matter) the lower section of the tilt trim unit is leaking for the second time in 6 years. I have just bought a complete used unit for replacement in April, however, I'd like to learn how to repair the 6 year old unit from my boat. I have the service manual and I can work on the old unit on a bench. I see there is a shaft replacement kit from 5 Star marine as seen here:

And this is the failed unit, you can see the leaking red fluid on the lower left, at the base, between the port and center piston:

I see how to tap out the locking pin and the shaft from the service manual but can someone explain where the seals go and how they are replaced and then how the shaft is tapped back in without moving or damaging the new seals?? The service manual does not explain any of this. It only shows how to remove the locking pin and shaft and how to tap the shaft back in.

Thanks...any help is much appreciated....Jim.
