150 pro xs serpentine belt shredding & fouling plugs

I have a 150 pro xs serial # 1B976642. About a month ago I had the alternator belt come apart in pieces. After I installed a new belt I had to replace the spark plugs also. A couple days ago belt let go again and I had to replace plugs also. Belt has quite a bit of slap in it when idling. Checked spring on tensioner and it is not broken. Any ideas which direction I should go??

Replace the spring?

Check the bushing on tensioner arm where it slips down over stud and the recess in block that spring end lays in first.
