Hi All,
Just looking for some help here. I am installing a new set of gauges in my Glastron V156. It had a new Mercury 75Hp 4 cylinder fitted in 1986 but never had the tacho or anything else fitted. I purchased Mercury part #84 86396A wiring harness, which I believe is the correct one. Before I connected up the gauges I though I would check the wiring output so I didnt blow anything up.
What I believe should happen is when the ignition is turn on to the position before engaging the starter motor there should be 12V across the purple and black wire?? My problem is when I did that I didnt see any voltage, the digital Tacho went to OL. I was wondering is the only 12V when the engine is running. What I had also just noticed is the battery is pretty low itself, just enough to to crank but but not start the motor. Im assuming it should still should give a reading
Thanks in advance.
Regards
