125 Mercury 4 cylinder Water out from above spark plugs

Hello, I am far from a boat mechanic. My boat runs a little while and dies... but while I was running it with the cover off, i noticed water flowing from the tell tale as well as shooting out of the back of the engine straight down beside the spark plugs. It appears as though there should be a tube connected to the 90-degree black barb that is sticking out of the backside at the top. I do not know if this is normal for the water to be shooting out of here, and if so is there supposed to be a tube connected to it directing the water somewhere?

Likely it was for a water pressure gauge.----Picture ?

So upon further review, I am wondering if this hose is supposed to be connected to that outlet. I looked under my dash and it appears to be the same hose that goes to my pressure gauge that was not working when I turned the boat on. Would you agree?

Attach the hose and test run.----Or remove hose at gauge and have assistant blow in the hose.

Thats what it was. Now to figure out why it dies after running for a few minutes. Thanks for the help.
