120 evinrude, 1989, no spark

This motor has not been run for 7 years. Tried to start it, has gas but no spark. Is there a beginners start to trouble shoot? No spark to the plugs but turns over fine.
??? to do next, before the marina?

Disconnect the black/yellow wire from the pulse pack and see what happens.

Is the pulse pack kinda like the coils?

Look at CDI Electronics as they have a really good diagnostic testing section. Save yourself time and money.
