"I'm gonna be working on a 03 125hp with that 2+2 or whatever they call it. Starts ok most of the time, but hot starts are a different story. Bulb is ok so fuel is good at least TO the carbs.Any help on this and/or what can be done to make this into a REAL outboard would be appreciated."

"By "REAL" are you talking about a "full time" 4 cyliner?

If so, you can't do it. The low speed coils ONLY feed CDM 1 and 2 and the high speed coils ONLY feed CDM 3 and 4.

Now you may be able to (jump) the low speed feeds to numbers 3 and 4 as well (but then you would also need the high speed feeds back to 1 and 2 or they would be weak since 3 and 4 would be tapping their power source), but personally have never tried and suspect you would end up toasting your whole ignition because you wouldn't have blocking diodes to prevent the low speed coils from sending power directly back into the high speed etc etc

I believe you would have to retrofit a twin switchbox thunderbolt ignition and then horse around to get it to work if you want a "full time, 4 cylinder"...."
