Viking sheer pin

"I got an Viking boat motor 6

"I got an Viking boat motor 6 hp. Model 64021. Serial # 1166. Trying to find where I can getta sheer pin for the prop. And what material is it? The size is 4 mm (or .16" ) in diameter by 1 & 1/2 " long.

"Joe, the sheer pin was probably originally made of brass (maybe?). The motor itself is a 1970 Chrysler, built for Eatons (Viking was the store brand).

I doubt you will easily find an original, but you could try an OMC dealer.

The little Johnson/EV 2 - 4 horse motors in the mid/late 80's use a similar pin and are still very much available (could easily be modified if length is a little too long)..."
