"Hi All,
For several yrs. I've been on a mooring and can only flush my V/P 350 Gi once a year. I usually do this at home with the muffs on and the eng. running. Should I also be flushing the block via the hose fitting which branches off to both sides of the lower engine block with the engine off ? Also is there a chemical I can add to help clear the block of grease and scale. Thanks in advance. J Allen"

I had thought about using the neutra - salt kit but with 800 hrs on the motor my reasoning is that scaling of the cast iron has already begun. Also, I have never seen any hard data on the neutra-salt kit. Is that garden hose fitting on the bottom of the block for flushing or draining? Thanks Again."

"I would be careful using that hose for flushing. If the engine is hot, a sudden influx of cold water directly to the hot block could cause you a problem. If you use caution you will probably be fine, but I would certainly use caution.
