Evinrude E4BRHCDE Gear Case

I have a 1986 Evinrude model #E4BRHCDE that was getting water in gear case lube. I removed the gear case. Then, after placing the shift lever in the forward position, removed the prop shaft assembly from the gear case. Replaced all seals, orings, shift shaft bushing, and water pump. Before reinstalling the prop shaft assembly into the gear case, are there any tips or advice anyone can offer?

Thanks so much.

None other than pre lube parts and o-rings with gear oil or light grease. Make sure edges where o-rings slide into are free of sharpness. How did you face the double shaft seals. Face to face, or back to back?

I faced the seals back to back.

The clutch spring has a tang on the end towards forward gear. Is there any particular position the springs needs to be in when I insert the prop shaft assembly into gear case?

Thanks.
