"Guys days ago I posted a trea

"Guys days ago I posted a tread on running my motor w/o the air silencer(w/o it would actually develop full RPMs range), and the common response was that w/o the air silencer the motor would run "lean" at WOT, the issues I’m dealing with is that my motor was pieced together before I bought it and some of the parts might for the wrong year model, well farther down the page there the link for two pics, the black circles represents what I think it is a wrong fit air silencer cover as you might see a few of the air intake hole are half blocked by the housing were the air silencer seats, is that normal or do I definitely have the wrong air silencer???, if so could I drill/make a couple of hole in the silencer to allow more air in to the carbs???

my motor is a Johnson 200 HP, the air silencer appears to be for a motor made in 1991 thru 1993

is there any markings on the powerhead itself to figure out what year and model the powerhead is???"

Think you're going to need

Think you're going to need someone with a 200hp Johnson to look and see if a portion of the holes in the baffle are covered or not.

Did you figure out what year model your motor is?

"No yet, I'm going to look

"No yet, I'm going to look at it this afternoon, with the link you provided me I should be able to figure it out, thanks..."
