I just picked up a 1976 Evinru

I just picked up a 1976 Evinrude 9.9 hp motor in great shape for the age of it. The points were changed and plugs but doesn't stay running. New to Outboards and looking for any pointers/help before I send it to a mechanic? Thanks for your help.

Agree with David to check the strength of the spark But if it sarts without too much difficulty prob a fuel problem rather than an ignition one

If you can keep it going by pumping the bulb then suspect the fuel pump.

If spraying in fuel mix or choking keeps it going then suspect a dirty carb.
