"My Bravo III drive has an oil

"My Bravo III drive has an oil leak that the marina is having trouble finding. They just changed both prop shafts because of excess wear ,(groove cut around both shafts at rear seal, possible causing leak), this did not stop the leak. The oil quantity in the resovoir goes down to the fill mark after about 2 or 3 hours of use. Doesn't seem to be leaking in bilge. Any suggestions where to look for leak."

"I had a similar problem with my old Alpha One drive, and I rationalized it this way: oil is cheap! Consider how much oil you need to add in one whole season and I'll bet it's less than 10 bucks! Of course, should the level start dropping far quicker, then you need to act.

Jeff

PS: Most Merc outdrives tend to use SOME oil."
