Can a foot off a 1983 50hp Evi

Can a foot off a 1983 50hp Evinrude be put in a 1984 60hp Johnson?

The driveshafts (std & Long) are identical.
The gearcase itself is identical.
The shift rod is identical.

"thanks mr reeves. yeah the drive shaft was sheered in two. looks as though the bearing that is about half way down might be bad, its rubbed rpetty good there. is changing this foot hard?
